Give the Gift of Memories | Marshfield, MA Lifestyle Photographer

'Tis the season for giving!

This is the month we usually start to think about everything we are grateful for. We reflect back on our year and think about our best memories. We think about how we can continue to make the most of our time in the last couple months of the year. I, for one, could always use MORE time with my kids. The years are so, so short.

This is just one of the reasons that we are asking our friends and family to gift experiences, rather than things, to our kids this year. I'm sure we could all use less "stuff." I know we could. We are becoming consumed with toys that never get played with. While I know we are so fortunate to have so much, we are spending less time together.

Gifting experiences creates an opportunities to make memories. Frozen yogurt with Grampa, baking cookies with Nana, visiting the aquarium with the family... this is the good stuff! The only thing better than doing these things, is having them documented!! This is why I am suggesting another experience that we can all gift thins year, the gift of preserving memories.

I am so passionate about gifting experiences this year, that I am offering gift cards at buy one, get one 50% off for an entire month!
Take advantage of this! It is so important, not only around the holidays, to stop giving people "stuff." Baby shower gifts, wedding gifts, graduation gifts. There is always a reason to gift someone a photo session. I promise you, they will cherish it.

What's In My Bag? | South Shore, MA Photographer

I'm often asked what I shoot with, whats in my camera bag, what did I use to get a specific shot, etc. I thought it would be helpful to share what I generally keep in my camera bag!

First, my bag!

My amazing boyfriend messaged my best photographer friend, Jess, over at Jessica Lynch Photography and asked her what bags I had been eyeing. He got me a gift card for my birthday for the bag I loved from The House Of Flynn; a beautiful, brown, mini-evermore bag!

Isn't it delicious?! Mine was "Bohemian Brown" so it looks a little different, but they don't sell that one anymore. They are so convenient! It has so much storage and is super light weight. If you've been wondering which bag to get for yourself, this is the one!

My lenses

I only shoot with prime lenses. I have a few kit lenses from my first camera but I don't ever use them. I've actually passed them down to my 3.5 year old and she has started learning! Her photos are pretty decent! We've printed quite a few and they are hanging in her room. Here is one she took of her little sister:

My 35mm f/1.4 is my baby. I love the Sigma brand, ART series. It never leaves my camera! I love the wide angle - the wider the better for me! Its wide enough for small rooms during in-home sessions and it captures a beautiful background when shooting outdoors.

Another favorite lens of mine is the Canon 50mm f/1.8. This lens is nicknamed the "nifty fifty" and is very versatile. Its affordable, so its widely used but new photographers; and its consistent in quality, so it is well loved by experienced photographers. Its a great lens!

The Extras

At least two of these...

A few of these...

...and a million of these...

I hope that's helpful! It takes a lot more than gear to get the right shots so once you have everything you need, practice, practice, practice. As always, I'm here to help if you need me!  Xo

Happy shopping, friends!!

Canvas or Metal?

Do you ever get stuck in a rut of wanting to print your pictures but you just don't know where to start so nothing ever gets printed? Its so hard to decide which pieces to invest in, and how. I always help my clients through this process but for anyone who has purchased their digital images and is printing on their own, this should help!
